Firstly, your car must be listed in an import car permited list, you can
get it from any Canada embassy, or it may be already appended with
your landing documents. Then you can drive this car to Canada.

step (2)
At Canada customer on USA/Canada board, you will get some document
which ask you take this car to a particular store to take a test, called federel imported car test. At this stage, you may be asked to get a recall history letter from original manufacturer. the test may cost you $100,
you pay should it at customer.
At the time of the test, it is posssible that your car may need to do some
modification works depending on which kind of car and which year and
modes of your car. for example, all cars after March 1989, must has
feature of auto-turn-on for the head lights. All these extra cost will be pay
by you.

step (3)
Then you need bring your car to registe in a province, the procedure is
differrient from province to province. In Ontario, your car need to take a
safety test(about $50), BC also need to do a safety test at a similar
price.

Now, you finish everything for the car imported from USA, The last thing you should remember is your car can not be saled in two years in
Canada.

Do you feel It is too much work for you? In my oppnion, you should buy a
car in Canada. The only benifit when you driving a car is that you can
carry more your home stuffs when you take your first time landing trip.

Good luck on your trip
