I am deeply disheartened and confused by your decision, as Ivey is my top choice program. I was wondering if I am able to speak with you regarding the exact reasons as to why my application for AEO status was rejected.
I understand that this year was exceptionally competitive, but I believe that my academics, mathematics, and leadership credentials all made me a highly competitive applicant. I was successful when applying to several other highly competitive business and computer science programs so I was wondering if it is possible to speak with you about the specific reasons for why I was not granted AEO status at Ivey.
In summary, I am a top student at my high school with a 98.5% final average. My midterm marks for 4U English is a 98% and for 4U Calculus and Vectors is 100%. As for other 4U mathematic courses, my final marks were 98% for Advanced Functions and 97% for Data Management. In addition to my academic credentials, I also display strong leadership skills, as demonstrated through my extracurriculars. In my leadership profile, I highlighted my role as Chief Financial Officer for my Junior Achievement company, my role as Co-Chair of Interact Club - a volunteering organization at my school, and my role as Vice President of my school's DECA chapter. In addition, I was recently awarded the Next Generation Leader Award from Junior Achievement. I believe that I am an ideal candidate, as demonstrated through my academic and leadership achievements.
I am truly saddened by Ivey's decision, as this has been my dream school for so long. Although there is the option to apply to the HBA1 program after second year, I know that without AEO status I will choose a different route to secure my place in a respectable business program. I have worked hard and diligently, and would love nothing more than to see that my efforts have paid off and I am able to be a student at Ivey.
