本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Today I filled out my citizenship application form. I have lived here for 3 years and a month. That’s one tenth of my life, or one quarter of my adult life. Looking back that decision to come to Canada is the best decision I made in my life so far. Not only have I more choices in my career development now ( either in Canada or China), I found myself a little more well-rounded, a little more tolerant, a little more perceptive of other people’s needs and feelings. I know without living is a culture marked by diversity and giving, this could not have happened to me so profoundly with in such a short time. I am looking forward to becoming a Canadian.

Threes years ago when I sang along ‘Oh Canada’ in a classroom, my attitude was, “I come here for a passport and a diploma, Oh Canada? I don’t care.” But now, especially in the past year, I felt I can truly relate to the emotions evoked by the national anthem. Happy birthday Canada.
