1. TTC Map is the best to know where is where. You can also call TTC for assistance, and they are very nice. 2. When opening your bank account, be sure to ask for a credit card (with deposit, of course). 3. Job hunting is not so urgent.

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛You can start your job hunting after you have bought your computer.

1. The most important part is your resume. Let your friends have a look at it and ask for their comment. Attending some workshop like the one in Woodgreen Community Center, they will also give you advice on your resume. At least you can know some new friends

2. Don't post your resume out until you think it's perfect, or almost perfect.

3. Maybe you should prepare several different version, depends on your experience and objectives. Personally, the skill summary part in the begining of your resume is the most important part, since HR people may only look at this part and try to find any match they wish.

4. Post your resume at all the job sites you could found, like workopolis, monster, brassring, headhunter.net, brainhunter.com (I have worked there for 2 months), positionwatch, etc.

5. Send your resume out to employers you found from internet. And the agents. Yes, they will search your resume, but it's better to send them by yourself if you could. And, never mind how many resumes you send out, or how many times you send it to the same agent/company.

6. Try to be familiar with the "telephone English", usually it's the first step. You can call Bank/bell/cable's customer support. Believe me, your English is much bad than you have thought.

7. Newsgroup tor.job and tor.jobs are also very good resource for job hunting. And, you may also find someone else's resume for your reference.

8. Don't go to an agent if you have not reviewed your skills and knowledge before that. I mean, you need to have a quick review of what you know before you go to see an agent. Probably, you will have at least one month of time before you got your job, so find a good text book on your subject, and begin to read it from the very beginning.

Finally, Good Luck. I believe at this hard time, this is the most important factor in job hunting.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
