Your email to the team lead was an unnecessary open challenge to the authorities and canceled a big chunk of the good will and respect they should have for the overtime you put in voluntarily. People like you don’t know how to deal well with conflicts or make compromises with grace. It is usually “my way or the highway”. The unfortunate result is that this type of personality has a side that is negative, dark, doing more harm than good, especially when they have top notch technical skills. At the end of the day, no one is indispensable, even the CEOs. They may need two people to replace you if you quit or they fire you, so what. It’s not their money on the line unless they are the owner of the business. Organizational hierarchy exists for a reason and being highly skilled or the CEO are no excuses. While most of employers try to tolerate workers like you, the reality is that your career is limited unless you find a boss who fully appreciates and trusts you. Rolians have already made some excellent comments above and provided you with constructive criticism. But you sounded quite defensive... maybe you are still upset in the wake of the incident.
