My two cents

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛It depends on your status. I don't think you can readily get imigration visa to US (although it was easier some years ago). It is true that the same person can make more in US than in Canada, especially when the damn exchange rate plays. But the actual quality of life depends on more things - such as the housing cost. A $300,000 house at Ottawa mat worth $2,000,000 at San Diego.

Generally speaking, US is richer, stronger and more ambitious than Canada and many people tend to go to the place they admire the most. This may be the humen nature. But Canada has something the US lacks. I came to Canada with a student visa several years ago and I can feel the anxiousity of people without PR status in those days - since it is so hard to find a job if you are not a PR and you might not be able to stay legaly after you graduate. With its door open wider to independent immigrants, I see new commers have much easier lives - free ESL course, job training, government loan for education and free health insurance. Although some of these benefits are not so attractive to healthy, young and energetic people, Canada demonstrates her kindness to those who choose this land as their new home. In addition, IT professionals are hot these days and qualified personnels are hunted by jobs recently.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
