本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Got TN Visa in Peace Bridge yesterday. Border Officer returned everything to me, even the TN Letter. Also, they accepted Canadian Dollar credit card. So, if you like, you don't need to bring USD cash. However, when I went to SSN office in Bufflo for Social Security Card, I got rejected by a black girl who indicated that she has worked there for nine years and knew every thing. She also gave me some bullshits that I need to wait 15 days and only apply in local office.
After just saying goodbye to the black girl, I headed to Niagara Fall for another SSN office. There were very professional middle-age white guys gave me a nice shot. (I am only interested in providing what happened to me that day, no race discrimination at all here.) I got a letter indicating that the the SSN will be available after the verification, as I just applied TN the same day and the information was not yet in the system.
Conclusions:
1. Be prepared and be self-confident: Border Officer only need information for decision-making, not documents themselves.
2. If you plan to apply for SSN right after TN, go to Niagara Fall: You will be better served.
