My understanding is that when new comers started new life here, preferably go to Chinese dentist, because that there is no language barrier, understanding the cash deal well, know how to get around the regulations better. (Doctors, Dentists from different races do that as well, I don't mean to be racist, just stating the fact.) they know what you need when you have no job yet. This is absolutely understandable, I have done that myself.

However, remember: Garbage in, garbege out! When you get same thing for less price, when you get around the regulations, the quality of work must be compromised, and the protection you should have you have lost.

I would not go that route if I don't have to. I would change my strategy whenever my condition improved. It applies to doctors, dentist, hygenist...., he'she must be prefessional, honest. This info normally carried by the word of Mouth.
