Sara Teasdale (August 8, 1884 – January 29, 1933), was an American lyrical poet. In 1933, she died by suicide, overdosing on sleeping pills.

Like barley bending
In low fields by the sea,
Singing in hard wind
Ceaselessly;

Like barley bending
And rising again,
So would I, unbroken,
Rise from pain;

郭沫若的译文: "象大麦那样 在海滨的低地, 在强劲的风中 不断地低吟,摇曳。 象大麦那样 吹倒又起来, 我也要不屈不挠地 把苦痛抛开。 我也要柔韧地,不问昼夜多长, 要把我的悲哀 变成为歌唱。"

  大麦俯身偃,海滨有低地,巨风动地来,放歌殊未已;
  大麦俯身偃,既偃且复起,颠仆不能折,昂扬伤痛里;
