C is very useful. However, we must follow the market. All the companies are claiming to be Object-Orietened. Actually, those managers don't know what is OO.

Hence, it is almost hopeless to get a job
with your C skills. You need master C++.
To learn C++, I suggest you don't confine yourself on certain platform. I have been learning C++ for years and I am still learning.

For basics, I think "Thinking in C++: I " is really good. For advanced topics, I like
"thinking in C++: II". You can download from
www.mindview.net.

I use VC++ compiler as I learn basics.
I did not touch GUI things.

Hope some C++ gurus can give you more tips. ---Jabber
