Dear Principle,
Subject: Health and Physical Education
I understand that the Ministry of Education is implementing a revised the Health and Physical Education curriculum for grades 1-8 in September 2015. I am writing to you as a parent with a child entering grade _______ this fall.
I do not believe that the school should be teaching my child/ren material in these classes that is inappropriate for his/her/their ages .
According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, to which Canada is a party, parents have the prior right to choose what kind of education their children receive. I am writing because I wish to exercise that right by withdraw my child from this class.
I am also concerned that my child will feel ostracized by such segregation. Will school be considering other means of accommodation?
