I do believe Albertan suffered in the early 1990s when Klien cut the public spending by 20%. However, things were improved quickly after the budget was balanced. During my time in Alberta when Klein was still the premier, I felt Alberta had the best environment for doing business in Canada. The roads were superior to BC and SK. Medical service were readily available. In addition, Alberta was names best managed jurisdictions in North America several times. We started feeling growth pain after 2006. The housing market took a giant leap in 2007. After that, the province was different.
