I think most canadian engineers are old people, because they have up to 40 years of experience. Just do not understand why they need so many years of experience even more than the technology itself existed.

It depaneds on your backgoud. All electronic/mechanical engineers in my company are vrey familiar with Unix and programming. I may pick up it very soon. Actully those engineers don't like to those kinds work.
