It depends on the location. If you want to live near downtown or the University of Calgary, for a one bedroom apartment with outside parking, basic appliance (stove, frg, etc), you can rent one at $550-$750.
Should be no more than $1000 including rent, food and transportation. An advantage of living in Calgary is that there is no PST.
