    hello,
    i want to ask you a question.I just get to java.
    Now i use Vj++1.1,But i could not produce any *.class with it .Even compile its examples.The result always tell me "undefined lang" or "undefined awt"etc.
    what setting i should make?

        Another question:
        i use the jdk1.1.7a,use" javac_g HelloAuto.java",Result show a warning--- "could not find the compiler symc*,will use ihterpreter",why ?

          If you're learning Java from scratch like me, just go to java.sun.com and d/l the JDK1.3, as well as the documents. Some tools like Kawa, Jpadpro also help to make things easier.

          I remember VJ++ is from Microsoft... forget it. That's not real java indeed.

            I ever wanted to download it.But i am in a intranet where has a anti-firewall.So fpe could not work,what's more,the http is unablility to support "Continue Transfer".The connect always lost.

            Where else could i get jdk1.3?

          Calm down. JDK 1.1.7 is old. Please use JDK1.2.2 or JDK 1.3. Good luck to you.

      Dear Shasha,

      If you are asked by your boss to develop a project using VJ++, go on please. If you are just learning Java, throw VJ++ away. In the latter case, you can download a JDK1.2.2 or 1.3 from java.sun.com.

      In my eyes, VJ++ is not Java but it is a destruct ion of Java. Trust me, my friend.

      You should first use JDK. After you are experienced, you may use IDES such as Jbuilder, Visual Age for Java, Visual Cafe for Java. netBean, CafeShop.....
