本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Today I filled out my citizenship application form. I have lived here for 3 years and a month. That’s one tenth of my life, or one quarter of my adult life. Looking back that decision to come to Canada is the best decision I made in my life so far. Not only have I more choices in my career development now ( either in Canada or China), I found myself a little more well-rounded, a little more tolerant, a little more perceptive of other people’s needs and feelings. I know without living is a culture marked by diversity and giving, this could not have happened to me so profoundly with in such a short time. I am looking forward to becoming a Canadian.

Threes years ago when I sang along ‘Oh Canada’ in a classroom, my attitude was, “I come here for a passport and a diploma, Oh Canada? I don’t care.” But now, especially in the past year, I felt I can truly relate to the emotions evoked by the national anthem. Happy birthday Canada. And good luck, my friends, I wish you all find the life you want. It’s not always going to be a smooth ride, but we’ll get there.
    • Congratulations and thank you. But I think the sentence of "3 years" is only up to now, still it should be one thirtieth of your whole life and one twentieth of your adult life.
我总是告诉他们 "I am very proud to be a Canadian."

Let's work together to make Canada - the best country in the world even better!
    • Oh, canada: Can we have food and place for living?
      • Depends on your own ability! But one thing I can gaurantee you is that those who keep complaining are not able to survive here.
        • I am keeping trying, but I know there is no fair chance for newcomers this year, because they hire the local or fired people firstly.
    • oh, canada: Can we have food, place for living here?
    • May I ask you a question? Suppose there is a game between China and Canada, which team would you cheer for? I don’t mean to relate it with patriotism:-) I think everyone has his/her own choice and feelings.
At least now I cannot imagine I would cheer for Canadians :-) I have a good friend who has been in Canada more than 10 years and lives very well there. He told me every time he cheers for Chinese and he cares more news of China than Canada.
      • I will cheer for the team that has less supporters at the place of the game.
      • If my son in in the Canadian team,of course I will support Canadians.
        • Are you so old?
HOME COUNTRY. HAPPY CANADA DAY!
        • whether you are in ca now? Even if it's a good multiculture country, in fact, the white control this country. Chinese are only engineers or labour in this country.
