VB hides a lot of COM details for you. You will never understand hardcore COM by using VB. Nobody use VB to develop COM server.

totally agree. If you don't know IUnknown, Dual Interface, smart pointer, class factory, how could you declare yourself to have expertise in COM?

If you just want to use COM component to bulid the ASP architecture, why do you must develop them with VC++? VB makes it easy to complete the goal. Please don't take COM apart from VB.
