Landing with you is the best, then you can send him/her back whenever you want. Children under 16(or maybe 14) do not have to stay here for 183 days a year to keep their landing paper.

And they can get their citizenship with their parents even if they did't live here 3 years out of 4 years.
If the child doesn't physically live with you day in and out, you are not eligible for the CTB. However, it's a society based on rules of honesty and integrity. If you don't report, the government won't know.
