          本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛If you are really sure you are gonna end up in US for the rest of your life, go to York, study hard, get a decent GPA and a Bechelor with hornor, take GRE and apply for a graduate program in a good US school. It really doesn't matter too much whether you graduate from York or U of Waterloo for those people who want to hire you in US, as long as you have the skills they are after. To them, you are from a generic school-- a canadian school( it's analogous to the feeling when you think of an Australian school). However , for some important positions, such as senior architect, chief scientist, or say, anything that is more academic and focuses more on research, a graduate background from a good school really helps, Also, if you decide to go to a top 5 business school in US for MBA, a degree in a top 20 CS program and a 4.0 GPA can push yourself a little bit ahead of other applicants, which often makes a difference when comptition is intense.

          If you go for Waterloo, I assume that you have to wait for additional year to take TOEFL and get admission. One year is a very long time, if you think of the opportunities you might catch and things you might learn in that one year.更多精彩文章及讨论，请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net

            I have got a lot from your answer although I now some relative info,you are knowlegeable in IT area,I plan to e-mail to you but always miss the time,here again,thanks a lot.

            I landed Toronto last Dec. I have a question about osap,I was told you couldnot get the osap unless you have been here for one year.they check the landing date from register date,if not reach one year,no Ontario loan for you.

            I absolutely want go to un. to study C.S ASAP,however,I have to consider
            the finianial situation in 2 or 3 years.Can I first PART-TIME then FULL-TIME to get the osap?This also connect closely my first question .

          For me I want to work, so for me it doesn't matter which school I went, but to graduate ASAP. I went to a very common university and found a good job after that.

            Less people know common un. of Canada in American,and everyone know waterloo and U.T ,this is the difference.In addition,this year,sb cannot find a job even they are from average un. major in C.S
