Who should and who should not come to Cananda? Welcome discuss!
本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛I know this is a large subject which it cannot be completely covered in such a short article. What make me write this article is many people ask question like that, many people think about this question before they come to Canada and I was also puzzled about it for a long time before I came to Canada. There are something I want to say before I begin. First,I just want to give my personal view about it. So if you have different ideas you can discuss with me and other people. Secondly, what I talk is to try to give general idea to help one make his decision if one is puzzled about it. If one have made his decision determinedly or one have a good reason to come or not to come to Canada ,of course this article doesnot apply to him.

Now it is time to discuss first who should not come to Canada in general. The following people should consider very carefully before they come to Canada:

1.one's age is over 35 or 40, and english is not good especially feel difficult to listen and to speak.

2.one's age is over 35 or 40, and his major is hard to find a decent job in Canada.

3.one's age is over 35 or 40, and his major is good but his skill doesnot match the mareket of Canada.

4.one's age is over 35 or 40, and the main reason is for his child. If one have to do labour work in Canada to support his family until they become citizens, the better choice is not to come to Canada. In this way,you and your wife sacrifice too much. There will be quarrels about it in the future. Everyone just have one life.Remember a chinese old saying,"Chidren have their own happiness, donot work as a horse or cow for them!".

5.one's salay is above 10000RMB in ShenZhen,GuangZhou,BeiJing,ShaiHai or 6000RMB in other inland cities, donot come to Canada unless you are eager to live abroad. You leave your relatives, your friends, your culture, your achievments and you cannot expect to have a much better life here.

6.If one donot have strong english and good skills that match the market here and one are basically satisfy with your life in china ,the better choice is not to come.

7.If one have great relationship with department of govenment in china or one get money easy no matter legal or illegal,of couse you should not come.

Then what kind of people should come to Canada in general:

1.one's age is under 28 and have a willing to go abroad, you can come because you are young.

    2. one's english is good and have good skills that match the market here, you should come.

3.one's salary is too low and even doing a labour work will make him happy, you should come.

4.one have a strong willing to go abroad and can keep a good mood at any time ,you should come.

5.one plan to go to a university in Canada, and one can get a good score on Tofel and GRE,you should come but had better take all these tests in china.

For those people who are not included ,it means you can come or donnot come. It just depends on you. However,if you want to ask whether Canada is good or not,it is an another large subject. But if you just want a simple answer, I can give you one . I'd like to use this simple answer as a ending to my article. "Whether canada is good or not, it is good only if you can get a decent job. "

    • simple and real. good article to me. two questions: a. 10000RMB for a year or a month? b. where is ShaiHai?
      • Of course it is for a month. Now average salary in Shanghai per month is 1300RMB. No doubt ShaiHai is Shanghai.
        • You are right. That's what I meant.
    • good point!
本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛This article is very good. it really say somehting to cool down the immigrating flood. I saw so many guys around to immigrate.
someone know what they are doing but most of them just follow
      the trend.
Here, I want to say something about myself.

I pay attention to this subject for a very long time. I am really
crazy for it for the begining. Most of educated people in China have
the dream of going abroad. I am not exceptional.
We long for the free life ...
When the door to the Canada is suddenly open to us, noone can
resist the temptation. But life in China is not too bad as before.
If we want to have such kind of advanture, we haev to lose what we have now. So, many such kind of post apear in the forum.
Everyon wnat someone to tell them how to choose. But the fact is you just can be your decision-maker.

My situation is: 32 , IT gal, stable life , English is better than some Chinese in China, skill set is not too bad(still need to improve).
Steve, What shall I do? which group do I belong to? :)
      .
Noone can guarantee your life if you immigrate even you are so excellent. There indeed are many lucky guys ,meanwile, there are
      too many sad stories.

Now I decide to stay. But maybe someday I will regret my decision.
      • I respect your decision. If you enjoy your life in china, if you are satisfied with your life over 85%,you should choose staying in china.
After all, it's not just 1 or 2 years for you after graduating from school. Losing all the thing one have earned is not a easy decision.
    • I am over 35. I think I am cleverer than when I was 25 and now I am more experienced. 'To be or not to be...' Think of it! Here is my advice: If you are hedonic, stay home; if you love to fight, let's invade Canada!
      • AGREE! :-)
        • //shake hands: nice to meet you! ^_^
          • xixi,me too! :-)
    • The most eloquent statement is your last sentence --- Only when one has a decent job can he/she make a comparison between Canada and China. ..........
本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛I agree with you that going abroad is a fashion beginning many years ago and too many people go after it without thinking. It is a fashion that by definition is ‘right’ without reason. Can you remember when someone tells you he/she will go abroad, what you have in your mind? Envy? Admire? Few would remind him/her life there might be very hard. Actually none of us would think life overseas may be worse. I don’t see many people say they regret going abroad, so maybe in general it is good. But we also read some bad news, some family tragedy. So if you don’t have strong enough willpower to endure material and mental pressure, consider it seriously, especially for those who have families to support, think it twice. As a matter of fact, people who are sober-minded and decide not to pursuit of the trend are really brave men.

I haven’t changed my mind yet because my situation is much better. I have a moneymaker behind me, so definitely I won’t do labor for living. Otherwise I wouldn’t think about going abroad at all. It is terrible.

        1. Yes, they can 应聘秘书、空姐 at 40岁、50. The point is how much energy do they have? How long can they work. Those people working at 40 50 have build up everything BEFORE 40 or 50. And you just start from the scrach. So the difference will be they work for fun and you work to meet the end.

        2. You can spend as much time as possible to learn English and I am sure you can master it very well in the end. BUT, how to support the family during these days? Anybody ever tried to study English for 2 years without any income for the family?
          • Agree! - All those who are willing to have a better life in a long run and to adjust himself/herself to the new land (language, culture & job market) should come in my humble view.
        • agree la. don't forget: canadians who are 40 - 50 speak perfect English. Hai ... canadian 空姐s are too old ... 摇头, 摇头, 摇头 ... they should reduce the price for that.
          • Please respect old ladies! I am not that old now, but I know one day I will be an old lady. Your mother is an old lady, your wife will be old someday and you yourself will be one of the elder too.
      • DISAGREE NO.5 I MAKE OVER15,000/MONTH IN CHIAN , MAKE $4,000/MONTH HERE. BUT I ENJOY MY LIFE HERE MORE THAN IN CHINA
    • One more thing to point, money is always a important factor to us, why?
If there is 1 M USD for you to take it somewhere, 100% of chinese are willing go to get it, but not sure how many percent of American and Canadian will go there.
    • 同意. 但 要分清辦移民. 和真正移民.我以為所有人條件夠的都應該辦移民, 但根本可當作買了個股票. diy, 代價小. 不用影響原來生活. 當多個option. 來到後其實很多方法躲避移民監. 何況新移民法快出呢?
    • Agree.总结哪些人不能来这里:一是想在这里做生意的人不要来,高额的税收和已经成型的商业环境会让你颗粒无收。遍布北美的超级商场和高度垄断使任何新兴的商业绝无存活可能;
      二是想在这里暴富的人不要来,残酷的税收和严格的金融监督系统使你无孔可入,稀疏的人气,僵滞的经济大环境只会使你的美元帐户一天比一天缩小。三是如果你在国内已经有成功的事业,显 赫的地位,舒适的生活就不要再出国,不可预知的磨难会摧毁你的意志。
      • 在CA做生意就那么难吗? 不管怎么说,CA 的经济比中国好呀.还有,有没有希望找到机会做与两国都有关的生意?
        • You are wrong. Canadian economy is not as good as China's.
Most Chinese new immigrants coming to Canada before 1999 have been working as general labour. " Be careful of the poor economy in Canada" this is the first thing my Canadian friend told me when I informed him of my immigration to Canada.
      • Hi, my brother, I have found it is very easy to make money by doing business here. Nobody bothers you. The point is you need to be good at doing it.
