the only thing matters if you can success in canada is your
english ability. you don't compete with your chinese fellow.
and for a new comer, job oppotunity is the first thing to consider.
toronto should be suitable for you. off course, if you are already
a millionar and don't have to work, go small city.

With the same pay level, you save much more in small cities. Plus, you don't waste time in commuting, plus the quiteness, plus the fresh air, plus the beautiful scenary. Plus, it's not far from big city so you can still enjoy Chinese food during the weekend.... When I was in Toronto, I used to spend 2.5 hrs on the road everyday. Now I use that time to play a 9 hole golf everyday. What a life! Only one down side, no Chinese girls around.:(

It's not easy to find a job for newcomer in small cities. But life in small city is really wonderful!

I think the follownig would be a feasible way:

Settle down in big city like Toronto first, when you get your first job and become familiar with the canadian environment, you can begin to search a job in small city. Once you get it, you can relocate to it and enjoy your country-style life!
