I have a Java question if you can help. I use JDBC-ODBC to connect to the MS
SQL Server 7.0.
Is there a driver that I can connect to SQL server directly? (like Oracle
thin driver) . Thanks

For instance, BEA System offere konaMSSQL JdBC driver,
which you may or may not downlaod from www.beasys.com.
Some other vendors offer JDBC drivers for MS SQL, too.
To check the list, you may visit java.sun.com and go to JDBC section.
Jabber: isn't there any other job chances for
non-programmer-IT-personnel? tons of people rush into
programmer area and it gives a picture that all others can't
find a job beyond coding/programming.

Not all IT guys are programmers. I can list some positions for you.... Buseness Analyst, DBA, System Administrator, Networking Administrator, Web Master, Tester, Marketing People, ...just name a few.
