G'day mate. I just emigrated from Canada because there is NO WORK that pays
decent for IT people. The States is the best place to be, unless you can
find a gig where you're at. I would NOT suggest to anyone that moving to
Canada would be a good idea. My last employer told me that he couldn't pay
me more than $40K because "the taxman just takes it all" Canada is the one
place where I believe a CCIE would be paid less than $100K. I had a choice
of jobs/locations in the USA & was relocated at company expense to my new
home. I am MCSE+I, CCNA, CNA with 2 years exp.
HTH. Chris. PS Toronto is COLD in the winter!!!!!!!!!!
Well I live in Montreal Canada. Though I love the country as a whole, I'm
afraid the amount of IT jobs available is kind of lackluster, unless you
have 7+ years experience. I have a bachelors degree in Biochemistry,
MCSE+I, CCNA,CCDA, and am one exam away from completing my CCNP. I have a
few years experience in NT, many years of experience in troubleshooting
PC's, and six years experience in IT sales. Though I'm about to get my
CCNP, I still consider myself a Cisco newbie since my "hands on" comes from
my two home routers (2501 and 2503) and 1900 switch. I've been looking for
a job now for a few weeks without success, even in the lowly $35,000 CAN a
year range. Winter here sucks, and the taxman will leave you broke. Unless
a friendly culture with a very low crime rate appeals to you, go south to
the US, make lots of coin, live in a guarded community, and laugh your way
to work each day in your new Audi TT...

So TRUE and yet so SAD. Anybody want to sponsor me to relocate to the south
lol? I've got CCNP, MCSE+I, and a university degree in biochemistry. I even
speak perfect English, and only occasionally use "Eh" at the end of my
    sentences.

if you want a job to make any sort of money canada is not the place. A
manager at mcdonalds is going to make more then a ccnp in most provinces.

          • this has been internet fashion for several years, probably originally from Taiwan BBS.
          • why cannot you show some respect to other people's choice? show your tolerance before blaming others. Does that word sound so important to you? Be tolerate, don't be picky.
          • frankly saying, if u put urself so self-centered, you will always feel insulted and unhappy.
