  • 枫下沙龙 / 谈天说地 / Urgent! Help wanted! I'm using a laptop with NT4 english and netscape installed. Could somebody tell me where I can download chinese font package on internet thus I can read rolia???
    • First download an IE, and then go to MS Windows Update. You should be able to find something like "IE Simplified Input Module". If I am not wrong, you will also be able to display Chinese in netscape.
      • I don't have admin authority on my own workstation(this is funny, but it's true). Do you think I can install IE successfully?
        • I am afraid not. But as a computer user, you can ask the IT guys in your company to install IE, or even the Chinese module, for you. That's what they support stuff should do.
          • But it's nothing to do with our company's business. I need a reason to persuade them.
    • And, I can not use MSN messenger in office!! But yahoo msngr works well. Can not talk to you guys. If somebody is using yahoo msnger, please add me to you contact list: richardlujava@yahoo.com
    • NS + NJStar
Can you install a NetScape on your machine?
If you do, you can download a trial version of NJstar from www.njstar.com, and then you can view and type into chinese. ( I meet the similar prob as you)

I don't know why, but it seems that NJStar only works fine with NS but cause trouble with IE.
If this way works, let me know, I can email you a full copy of NJStar.

You may also try to log into your own machine( domain-> choose your own machine name) to see if then you can download and install the chinese font for IE.

      Hope that helps.
    • After installing IE, just try to install GLOBAL IME(for simplified Chinese) from microsoft download center. Then you can read and write Chinese.
    • i use win2k and netscapre 6, i can ead chinese. no problem. maybe u can update ur netscape.
    • Thank you guys! final solution: NT4 + NJSTAR. I can not reinstall OS, it's mandatory.
