  • 枫下家园 / 爱车一族 / Any DX help me? thanks in advance: $24700(including freight and tax) for 2001 corolla LE, is the price fair?
    • fair, but should include the air conditioning and auto transition. if basic, could be around 21K.
      • thanks a lot! but is it possible to bargain, let's say $24000 or something like that ...
        • it's alway possible. but the 'net' price for the car is not so important as u think, anyway, there is only $700 diff.
if i were u, i will pay more attention to the loan interest, down payment, warrity , service package and when i can get the car. the dealer would like to see u pay cash for saving the $700, even the new car finance is only1.9%. otherwise, he also prefer to deduct the money from other options. take care the whole thing.
          • could you tell me more about warranty and service package? I am really new about this, I thought every dealer give same service package for new car ...
            • i believe the new car's warranty is same because it's provided by factory, but
dealer will ask u to buy extended warranty or service packages, they can make money from these options. of couse, someone feels these kind of things are useful, but others look them as garbage. if u buy some options u may possibly get hundreds bucks down. u can think of it.
              • so service package is always optional, but if how much do I need to spend on these option and how many options do they have?
                • wow, this question is so professional that only for the dealer: how can i know how many options they have? :) the way is:
don't say: how much do i need spend on these options -- change ur mind: if it's necessary that i need these options? if yes, then which one fits me well? and if i can afford? not only focus on the money,ok?
                  • yes, sir! Gotta run, thanks and talk to you later maybe.
    • Why LE? CE is enough. for a LE, I'd rather go with a camry
      • good point. but a full-loaded corolla LE is still cheaper than camry. also results in insurence and tax, even loan interest.
        • even 4 cylinder camry, I need to spend extra $5000 - $6000, could you compare difference bet. corolla and camry ( 4 cylinders), thanks
          • i say 'good point' because i feel u spend extra 20% money and u get ur car upgraded to a higher class. but not wise to spent the money on the diff. between CE and LE.
it's not necessary to compare camry and corolla, they r two classes as i said. u can find the diff. everywhere. anyway, i will not go for camry. it's more expensive, and it's absolutely family car, for mid-age, couple with child, business career or sth. like office-guys. it's not for me, xixi... u make ur own disicision.
            • couldn't find dealer with 2001CE, and 2002 CE comes with higher financing rate (5.9%), do you know any dealer who has 2001 CE ? thanks
              • i'm in vancouver, hehe... ask for egg, he has corolla.
                • Pasu has a 2002 corolla CE, 3.8%
                  • Egg, you must have CE, which year? does Pasu have 2001 CE and where?
                • Thank you for your useful info, Sailer!
