    I installed my PC with win98 and WinNt. They work together well untill I wanted to add another user to my NT. The message is like title.

    I open the USER MANAGER FOR DOMAIN. The message is like this:
    "The network path was not found. Do you select another domain to administrator?" I select YES.

    In fact, I have only one domainwhose name is mydomain in my pc. Mydomain is listed in the window "Select Domain". I have no choice except Mydomain. A message poped out: "You have not entered a valid selection."

    I formatted the harddrive and installed the win98 first then WinNt. The problem is still there.

    Environment: Celeron400,128M,SOTEK sl-65fv(VIA693), copyright win98 and winnt. 98&nt all are fat16.

    • I do not remmeber something in detail. I think your NT must be a NT Server and you did not selected your NT Server as the primary domain controller in the domain "Mydomain" when you installed your NT Server. -old(HH); 2000-12-5 {499} (#17239@0)

      Another way for you to solve this problem is to intall your NT as a NT Workstation.

    • I think you installed nt server on your pc , but you select nt server as a domain server when nt let you select which server type you will be use (to be continued ) -guest:guest; 2000-12-6 {757} (#17344@0)
      if you only one pc , it is not necessary to take nt server as a domain server, domain server can control all pc in the doman .in a domain , it can only have one primary domain server , but can have some secondary doman server and many common servers . you should select nt as a common server . nt server have some services which is not in nt workstation.(for example nt server has IIS , nt workstatin only has PWS) , if you do need a domain server , you must setup it as a primary domain server if you only one pc . and check the network card and protocol are installed and configures right .
      if you have not a network card , you can install a MS loopback network card as if you really have a network card , but you can not communicate with other pc.
