  • 枫下家园 / 生活杂事 / Hi, I am Annie. I will landed in Toronto in early Aug. Can you help me to find a room of a house or townhouse ($300 to $400)? But no basement. Please email to annih_1998@yahoo.com. I appreciate your help very much!
    • From 相约加拿大 / 枫下黄页 / 生活网站 / 分类广告 you can find ads of rental. Good luck!
      • Thank you for your suggestion, Sailor. However, I found that the ads there all mostly for apartments and quite expensive. Will you spare some time to listen to my story, hope you'll understand my situation.
I am a single lady. I just graduated from university two years ago, so I couldn't accumulated much money from my work. This immigration cost almost 2/3 of my parents' savings. And I have a younger brother still going to university in China. You see, it's impossible for me to take much money with me to Canada. Just immagine, how can I get by with only several thousand CADs but without a job, plus that I have to spend a large amount of money on the apartment rental >$400? Family is a heavy burden to me, really. So, the first thing I have to do after landing is to find a job, no matter what kind of job it is. But I just can't spend too much on the rental. I must save money to return my parents. I am here asking for your favor that if any of you have any news on room for rent, please email me and give the contact way. I will land in early Aug. My email is "annih_1998@yahoo.com". Your kind assistance will be much appreciated.
        • from the newsgroup ut.chinese you can also find many cheap rental message. They're mostly from Chinese Canadians. It's in: 相约加拿大/枫下黄页/多伦多地区
          • Thank you, Sailor. I found many useful information in that forum.
        • maybe marriage can help...hehe...
          • Come on, 恭喜. You know why I chose to immigrate to Canada? All for my bf. Otherwise, I'd done what my parents asked me to do-marrying an American two years ago.
            • Ooooo00 c....it's respectable to pursue love in another continent without enough finances supports...take care..Best Regards.
              • Sounds like a fairy tale. In fact, it's quite simply. That's the only way I can be with him, and, make my parents feeling better as the same time. No pains no gains.
                • Your story make me move at great, it took my memory back to many years ago when I first move to HK with a few hundred dollars in my pocket.
It was not fun being a poor and to start everything from beginning, in a place that you are not familiar with. However, I really appreciate what you have decided and worked for. God will bless you and I will pray for you. Good Luck!

Besides, I do not know what kind of job your are interested in and what is your plan. People keep saying that Toronto is the best place for new comers. Nevertheless based on my experience, Vancouver may be a better place to try. For example, if 100 people in Toronto to fight for 10 openings, in Vancouver, may be 10 people to fight for 4 openings
                  • Thank you, Builder. I an not alone now. At least I have the encouragement from the nice people like you.
I am not doing this to pretend to be a heroine. I just try my best to fulfill my dreams. And dreams for me are only some simple life. Hope Canada is a right dicision. I agree with you. It's not fun at all to be a poor, while I'll have to be one. However, even if one is moving to an unfamiliar place within his own country, there will be difficulty in his life at the beginning, right? My major is English in university. And I am now an administration assistant. I planned to go to Vancouver at first cause I have a cousin there. However, I heard that job vacancies in Toronto are more than those in Vancouver. So I choose Toronto thought I don't like its weather at all--too cold and too long the winter is. Anyway, I am flexible. Just have a try. I will do my best and I have the confidence. Keep in touch.
