          After I placed the bid, I found a local auction company had this exact item sold for only CND125, and I bought mine for US$135, plus shipping US$35, plus custom duty, ultimately I payed about CND330!

          At this time last year, the same company had 2 big HP server for auction. They were sold at less than CND400 a piece! Oh well, only if I had money at that time...

          It's amazing to see the unit I got has such big RAM, considered it was in use in 93, 94. But it has very small harddrive, only 2 500MB seagate but you can attach external scsi harddrive. Also, it's pretty heavy, and a bit noisy too.

          I just don't have time to play with it, otherwise I wouldn't have let it collecting dust. Too bad you are not in Vancouver...

      IBM 的AIX 是一个发放的Unix 系统，是从AT&T System V 和 BSD重新 开发的。运行在IBM RS/6000 (现在的 p Series）上。因为 RS/6000的CPU 是Power & PowerPC RISC 系列，所以到AIX 4.3.3不能跑在基于Intel CPU 的机器上。
      最近推出的AIX 5L 是基于IBM RISC 32/64bit & Intel IA-64 的操作系统。不支持Intel 32bit 的CPU.所以到目前为止的Pentium 4 都不可运行AIX ,64bit 的安腾可以。

      IBM 从1997年开始支持在RS/6000上运行Linux .机型为F50.
      在RS/6000上的linux 商业版本是Yellowdog.
      我相信Redhat 等版本也可能运行在RS/6000上，但是Linux Kernel要重新rebuild，我没试过。

      HP-Unix 也有相同的问题，HP-Unxi 运行在HP-9000的小型机服务器上，HP-9000的CPU 为HP PA-xxxx RISC 系列芯片上。HP 称HP-Unix 支持Intel 64bit 的安腾芯片,但不支持现有的Intel 32 bit CPU.(包括Pentium 4)
