  • 枫下家园 / 理财投资税务 / can somebody answer me? thanks in advance.
Today, I placed a order in TD waterhouse, sell BRCD 500 shares at limited order 26.52$, at 1pm. TD told me they route their order at a market maker, name is Knight,
About 1.21 I saw level ii, there matched 100 shares at 26.55; 100 shares at 26.54; 35000at 26.53, and more at 26.52. but my order not matched, actually I didn't see 26.52 at bid list. I called TD they say it's legal, but I still want to figure out what is the problem, I will appreciate somebody answer my question, thanks.
    buddy
    • your sell is OTC
your sell is OTC( over the counter) order . It is nothing to do with MM. The
TDW ( as any other on line brokage) make your money twice : 1. by commision 2. by the price spread.

so, you would not see you bid on level II. TWE buy block and sell you
      for retail.

      hong
I think so, but I might be wrong

I think you are talking about the bid price 26.53....?? Am I right ?
    • thanks
      I think there two possibililties:
1, cause all day there no bid price equal to 26.52, that mean no body post this price, if Knight didn't place my order in the right reginal market, MM, or ECN where, matched 26.52 or 26.53, I had no chance to match.
that is ok, the nasdaq market system,
2, Knight mishandle my order, they didn't post my limit order out, it's illegal. That I had changed price for sevel times, one of the TDW,sales told me maybe MM get upset, and delay my order,he said sometimes ,MM call them for customer changed too frequently.
that day for this order, I loss seval hundred bucks, and I want to make complaint to Nasdaq.
but it's difficult to find history of bid prices, match time, did someone know it,pls let me know, thanks.
      • plus, if you insist to get the history for bid , you can get it.
the braokerage all have this knid of access, however my advise is not bother to do that since the reason of Nasdaq been a dealer market.
    • my friend: when you trade stock on Nasdaq
please realise it's adealer market. you may see stock price go pass the price you set to sell/buy, however those trades may just happen between dealers, so there is no guarantee you will get a fill. it's different on NYSE, NYSE is an auction market.
