If your SQL Service is set up to start under the NT ADmin, when you change the password for that NT Admin, you have to go to service->mssqlserver to modify the correspondent password ,otherwise your SQL Service won't be up.
right click you server in sql enterprices mmc, choose properties, goto security tab, make sure the service start account and its password both are correct. if you use muilt-domain, use [domain name]\[account] format
