    • me as a translator, no need IELTS, need interview. My case, Aug 8 Interview and ME in HK, now waiting for LP.
      • Hi, how about your interview? The questions are concerned about translation? Thank you! By the way, when did you get your FN?
        • My interview was about 15 minutes. The questions were mainly about my working experience as a translator. My FN, March 1999.
          • Thanks a lot. How about your second foreign language? French?
            • About French in the interview.
The officer did ask me questions in French. Unfortunately, I didn't prepare for it. I told her that I could not speak French now because it's been a long time I haven't spoken French. Fortunately, after the question she told me that I have passed the interview. I think she just wanted to give me a score on my language ability.
              • Thanks. You're so lucky. My second foreign language is German. I don't think it may help. Any advise you can give me to manage the interview? Many thanks.
                • No need to worry. The inteview is very simple.
                  • You've been helpful to us. Thanks! Stella. Did they give you test of translation on the interview?
                    • No. I was just given a short passage to read and then answer some questions.
          • How many years of work experience do u have? Is part-time translation helpful?
            • When I applied, I had only 1.5 year experience, so my consultant advised me to add 3 years part-time experience. I don't know whether it is helpful.
