Yesterday I went to Canadian Tire and found so many types of skates there. As a tropical person, I totally have no idea about it. I'm wondering the following:

1, What's the difference between hocky skates and figure skates?

2, What should I pay attention to when buying skates?

3, What's the quality difference between cheap ones and expensive ones? They look similar!

Thanks in advance for your kindly response.
      • Thank you, David! btw, Could you recommend any sport shop selling skates? (in Toronto)
        • I guess generally only Canadian Tire and Walmart or Zellers have the cheapest deal. Personally I don't remember some stores like FootLocker or stores in King Street W (MEC or Europe Bound) carrying such shoes. Did you try to search toronto.com?
        • No man's figure skates in these super stores. I suggest you go to some special sports shops. Unless you like the hokey skates for man.
          • how about mountain euipment co-op?
    • Younge, north of Finch, a "Play it again" store. Boaue brand(not accurate), $69.99 for Men's hokey shoes. They have machine to make the shoes fit you.
      • hockey! there was a typo.
      • more than one typo, hehe, never mind. I guess it's Bauer, a popular men's sportwear brand.
