  • 工作学习 / 求学深造 / Looking for job or studying for Ph D?
I have taken the ME last December and am waiting for LP now.
But I can't make the decision if I should look for job or study after I move to Canada.
I have got master degree in China. As my experiences, it should be not difficult to
get one piece of job. But I am afraid that the degree of Canada is much better or
necessary sooner or later. Is it right or not? If someone has some ideas about it, please reply
    this post! Thanks a lot!
    • Try to find a job first... then,,,,,
Try to find a job first... If it approves as U said, and you can get
a good offer, then make choise: work or study.
If you can not, try to apply for studying.
BTW, someone said it is much more difficult to a Chinese Immigration
to appply for study in top univ than finding a good job> ;-)
      • my idea...
Thank you very much for your suggestion! Yeah, maybe I have to look for job firstly. For me, the most earliest possible register time is next Spring. Maybe I should apply for studying and working at the same time. And I need to take T again.

If I decide to go on studying, I will apply for the top Univ even if that will be much difficult. Actually, I also have no ideas if I should apply for another Master or Doctor.
I know the Ph.D is difficult to find a job. But I also think the Ph. D should be better for the future. How about your opinions?

More, I always think if studying is necessary, earlier is much better than later.
That's the reason why I am worried to make the decision. I always try to make the plan clearly and directly in advance. But it looks almost impossible to make the choice before I go to Canada.
    • Nothing is more important for an immigrant than a JOB
    • Depends on your long-term objective and your short-term financial condition.
If you have a family to support and don't have enough cash reservation to maintain a certain level of living standard, it may be better to find a well-paid job first. Otherwise, a Canadian degree will help your career development - you have a stronger bargain basis.
      • my situation
I have no family and I think my financial condition is no problem to support myself for the beginning.

About the Canadian degree, do you think which one is better, another Master or Doctor?
I know the ph.D is not easy to find one job. But I am also afraid that in the future, the Ph. D should
be stronger. If I should get it sooner or later, sooner is much much better than later, right?

        Thanks a lot!
        • Yeah. Pursuing the PhD degree is a paristaking process.
It also depends on your field of research. If you work in the Computer/Telecom area, no difficulty at all for a PhD to get a well-paid job.
    • can you make me clear WHAT ME and PH.D MEAN?
      • PH.D means Doctor degree. me???
        • Medical Examination
