沿着YONGE，各方面都方便，环境也好，但比较贵。住中区中国城附近，买副食品方便，但环境脏乱一些，房子也旧。如果是刚落地，TTC范围之内，大同小异，要看具体房子。毕竟现在多伦多空房率才0.6%。 -northyork(North York); 2001-1-22 (#22771@0)

it's not perfect, but for new immigrants it's good to be first place to live. very convenient to take TTC and do grocery shopping, and only several mins to walk to Lake Ontario, 30-40mins walk to Chinatown in Spadina. many chinese immigrants live there, the rent is much cheaper than downtown.I personally think it's better than sherbourne and jarvis area.
one more thing, you only need to pay deposit for one month(which is supposed to be rent for the last month you stay there) and then rent for first month. -guest:; 2001-1-22 {343} (#22791@0)
don't get cheated by some landlords, who charge new immigrants deposit for 6-month-rent, b/c some people moved out without paying rent.

deposit for more than one month rent is illegal here, you can sue the landlord.

if u signed lease, u usually need to inform landlord 60 days before you
move out, otherwise u cannot get deposit back.
