        那个人用了4个月才找到一份4万的工作，而我的朋友薪水是7。5万。想起来原因主要是哪个巴基斯坦人工作对公司不重要平时也不加紧学习的缘故。而我的朋友平时则非常用功。

          CS degrees from most universities do not mean working abilities. In some sence, CS degrees are just like MCSEs----indicating you have spent some time. Chinese friends like to compare CSs from different schools, but I think it is meaningless. If you are a CS from MIT, University of Maryland at College Park, University of Waterloo, I do trust you just like you are graduated from Physics Department of Peking University.
          If you have a CS degree from a "generic" university, I cannot believe you are competent because I talk you for about 30 minutes.

          There is a misunderstanding among Chinese immigrants. Some people
          think a Canadian CS degree can secure their life in Canada. It is wrong. To survive in IT industry and make more money, the most important thing is to learn and learn.

        Nortel is really rich and can still burn money. It seems to be a bog advantage to hug the giants like IBM and Nortel.


        If I were laid off now and given 4-month salary, I would be happy to tears!
