Just for your information, I finally bought a Sony TRV-17 miniDV camcorder from FutureShop at the price of 1780 (they also give me a Sony Bag which includes a battery in it, and three JVC miniDV cassette). I bought the PYRO kits from FutureShop, it includes Ulead VideoStudio 5.0, a 1394 card, and a 1394 cable). The price is 79.99 + tax. I believe you can get a better price if you buy them together.

I saw a sony 1394 kit for miniDV in ComUSA, for $99.99USA, including cable+card, 2 cassettes and the softward from Adobe.

Do you think Sony TRV-17 is good? Compared to the $400-500 entry level miniDVs from Panasonic and JVC, it is expensive.
