ideally u can save the money of monitor,but practically, the quality is very bad for text. before buy a card, try to refresh ur bios, both for video card and for mainboard. search ur bios in www.mydrivers.com
I have been using my labtop, and my computer's mission cirtial so I am not prepare to play with bios, the video driver was released in sep 15 of 2001, and I already have a highend monitor, I am looking at this card

i had this problem before, the reason is the conflict of your motherboard chip and your video card chip

to solve this problem, you must follow the following steps:
1. install OS
2. install 4-in-1 driver
(this is the driver to upgrade motherboard in order to support TNT video chip)
3. install TNT video dirver
thanks man, I suspect the via chip on the MB was a problem, I have Win98SE on the system, I also have the up to date video driver, what is that 4 in 1 driver you are talking about? and where to get it?

you can look for this driver from your motherboard driver CD

if you can't find it, i will upload it and you go to download.
i have the 4-in-1 driver, and i think , mostly, your problem is just the same as mine.
i suggest you backup your files before you update the driver.
