    I'm trying to install Oracle8i Personal Edition in Windows2000(Professional), it always says "Invalid staging area. There are no top level components for WindowsNT available for install from this staging area." In "Readme" file, it mentions for 95/98/NT, but does not mention Windows2000.
    What components my computer needs? How to solve this problem? Thanks.

      Several things:
      1) Make sure that you are installing at leaset O8i version 8.1.6 or higher as nothing less is supported on Windows 2000.
      2) Make sure you are installing from a CD intended for Windows 2000 and not just Windows NT. The NT CD will not install on Win2K.
      3) that you are not installing to a directory wint spaces or special characters in it as the Oracle_Home.
