Defenitely you will need a returning home paper. Your citizenship will be delayed as well. Although I know some people cheat on this, it won't work for you cauz you will be studying.

yes, it's very very strict at Canadian border near niagara falls now, much more than US custom office. fortunately my friend finally got canadian passport and we no longer need to worry. one person is troublesome enough.
