Usually the commision will be 2.5% for buyer's and seller's agent each (payable to their company). You could calculate your potential income.
Other information: In Canada, a family will probably buy a new house in an average of 5 years.

Real estate is a business that deal with people, not with "stuff" like computers. Ask yourself: are you good at catching people's attention? do you have VERY VERY good patient dealing with stupid people?..

As long as you put your heart into it, you can survive in any fields, doesn't matter it is IT or Real Estate. The question is: would you be able to enjoy it?
