"real" mechanical design packages, say, used in automotive industry (Ontario's main stream), you need to know UG, I-DEAS, or CATIA
UG, Catia, IDEAS are widely used in automotive and aerospace industry. Pro-Engineer and Mechanical Desktop are used by relatively small companies. AutoCAD doesn't have good 3D features compared to them.

Pro_E(parameter technology) is the largest among all these. May not used by large amount companies, but definitly not used by small companies, by by big giant.

i'm very familiar with Pro/E, Solidwoks and AutoCAD, should I study more about Catia and IDEAS? I'm a new comer in Toronto, Could you please give me some sugesition about job hunting? Thank you!

It's enough expericense. The most need is language. One application fail because his communication ability.
