Web, Telnet server.

    > Interesting ports on cr610252-a.ym1.on.wave.home.com (24.101.160.77):
    > (The 1538 ports scanned but not shown below are in state: closed)
    > Port State Service
    > 23/tcp open telnet
    > 80/tcp open http

    Thanks a lot!
    • see inside.
you (or your OS) DID open those ports anyway, the best way to fix that problem is to download some firewall software to protect your host from being scan by Rogers. also you could download some scan or security software to scan you host to figure out what ports are open, just like Rogers did. hope that would be helpful.
      • but I open 21 25 80 110 443 for almost 1 year. None says anything. Sometimes @home scan the network, but nothing had happened....
        • I think that depands, say depends on your traffic volume whatever. since I was suspended by Rogers due to opening FTP service two months ago, then I installed Sygate firewall and so far so good.
    • Is BroadBand SOHO Gateway a router(hardware)?then may be 80 and 23 were its default admin ports. In win2000, maybe you would like to use netstat -a to see your network state
    • Hehe, that's the output of nmap. If they don't want people to open those ports, why don't they just block them like they do with TCP 137-139.

BroadBand SOHO Gateway is router, so I think roger company scanned my router.

How can I turn off these two ports?
      What is 'nmap'?

      Thanks a lot!
      • 1. See if you can block those ports through the admin interface. 2. nmap is a very popular security auditing tool, see link.
