      I have been to Vancouver, it's a very pretty city with nice people. I still choose Toronto, because i think i might be the busy big city type, esp after living in a city like shenzhen for several years.

        本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛The point is, if u r somehow successful in shenzhen, of course you will be or even more succesful in vancouver or toronto, esp if you tend to join canadian mainstream society. When I was in Vancouver, i noticed there are so many chinese, esp Cantonese stick to chinese society only. they don't need to say a english word in weeks. I don't think this is the life WE want too. We should have OUR Chinese sound, maybe since now !

        Is weather really a important concern? well, not for me, living in shenzhen for long time, i really miss white snow. Is distance a concern? oh come on, is there big difference between 13hr and 17hr flying? So, how about the beautiful views, of course Vancouver is beautiful, esp looking the golden downtown from the seashore in Vanier park before sunset, wahh, it's like untrue, the world of fairy tale. But i still believe there are many beautiful views in toronto too.

        Some of my friends choose toronto for another reason: It's nearer to the US, who knows? Canada maybe not the last place to move / mmigrate to for us!更多精彩文章及讨论，请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net

            不象多伦多，卡尔加里等工业城市，温哥华只是个旅游城市，从这点来说，适合技术移民工作机会就少。加之由左翼的自由党执政苛捐杂税下来，又逼走不少business. BC的失业率高居全国前几名，大学也较西部少。

            好在马上省选，自由党当选问题不大。但愿能让BC的经济有大的转机。

            找工作IT业还是有不少机会，但和东部还是没法比的。我们公司在美国和加东都欣欣向荣的，温哥华这边在全国经济蓬勃发展的过去两年里连炒带跳走了一大半。也就是这半年才有点起色。

            我觉得无论去哪个城市都可以，都要做好难找工作的充足的思想准备。英语口语一定要先过关。我的一个朋友的男友，原来在国内自己办公司，做Oracle数据库，过来找不到工作只在一个中国人开的计算机商店打工一月1600左右，口语练不了一呆就是一年后来公司关门没办法重新开始练英语，找工作。我的看法，尽早练好口语，如果国内有条件就在国内练。第一份工作很重要，尽量找到一个对积累经验有帮助的。

      有 一 点 钱 的 深 圳 人 抱 着 座 移 民 监 的 念 头 ， 带 着 够 三 年 的 开 销 的 钱 还 是 来 熬 吧 ........

        但还是喜欢温哥华，在我们的心里，现在深圳值得我们怀念的只剩下美食了。

        I think some people will be a little extreme when they are overwhelmed by the feeling of nostalgia.In my view, shenzhen is certainly a good city in China, especially after being elaborately cultivated as a window to present the achievement of the reform of China. But expect for some external changes about city vision, there are no any internal changes on security, polity and so on.
        I have no inclination to debase shenzhen and any other cities in our homeland. But I feel there are indeed lots of facets that shenzhen cannot compare beauty with Vancouver.You cannot clean your house once a month in shenzhen as in Vancouver. You cannot cross the road regardless of the running cars in shenzhen as in Vancouver.You don't dare to live in a house withour a fence of wire netting on your balcony in shenzhen as in Vancouver, right?I am sure you will say you miss Vancouver so much when you go back to shenzhen.So,don't always think shenzhen is better than Vancouver,although I do wish it will be in the futher.
