    • Report your income as OTHER INCOME, then you don't have to pay EI, CPP, a very good way!
      • Do not do anything if you are still in doubt, contact your tax services office as soon as possible!!!
        • this is the best advise...... tax office has the most correct answer for your situation.
          • Where can I find the tax office?
            • go to CCRA web site and search for it.
              • I went to the ccra web. But I'm sorry I still can't find the answer. Do you know anyone that help people to compute tax?
    • Yes, you are self-employed. You don't have to register a company to be a contractor, but you may need get a GST number form Revenu Canada to charge your client, your working company, for GST.
      • Hi! Boss!!! It seems he does not know how to do business in canada and asked such questions, how come he could be self-employed.
Hi! Boss!!! It seems he does not know how to do business in canada and asked such questions, how come he could be self-employed. How people can help boss if the boss intent to consider a worker as a self-employed individual while the worker is in fact an employee? OTHER INCOME is good way?
        • You are right. In fact, he is an employee.
But the boss won't pay any beneift for him, so they sign a contract and make it seems like a self-employed. In such a bad situation, what you can do is to accept all the rules your boss gave to you.
          • "You are.."? Who are "you"? " " newhonda " or " littlebughole " " He is ..."? Who is " he "? " littlebughole " or " mewhonda " Shame on you!
        • Why not ? In what fact ? Tell us Please !
          • When your business is growing, "independent contractors" or contract workers can provide fast relief. But watch out for legal and tax problems arising from conflicting definitions of "employees" and "contractors."
          • You did not spend 1 year to decorate your house, did you? Only company itself can correct their fault of improperly classified workers. It is issue between the employer and government
            • What are you talking about ? I am totally lost !
              • It is very important to correctly determine the type of employment relationship,Ignoring this could mean penalties and tax arrears for both the employer and the individual.
              • Government will find out the fault of the employer directly. "GST or OTHERINCOME" can not cover up for the fault of the employer! So it is issue between the employer and government.
      • Should I claim the income tax according to an individual or a company?
For individual, there will be personal tax credit for 1212, and for equavalent spouse tax credit for 1029. But for company, there is no such personal tax credit. If I don't register a company, can I claim meal or rent to deduct the imcome? Thank you very much.

                • You are welcome. It is a great pleasure to help others. Thanks.

Risk of waste time when between projects, not because 考虑了休假,各种保险等因素,一般时薪more than $65 per hour的人喜欢做contractor because of lower tax rate.
