      BTW, I suggest you apply Ph.D. Those Canadians think it's unreasonable for a Master to apply another master in the same field again.

                  Non-Canadian applicants may be required to provide proof of proficiency in English. The following tests are acceptable:
                  (TOEFL)

                  Test of English as a Foreign Language

                  Minimum score required - 580 for paper-based test, 237 for
                  computer-based test. Applicants to the School of Business must provide a Test of Written English if the paper-based test is taken. Minimum score - 5.

                  (MELAB)
                  Michigan English Language Assessment Battery Minimum score required - 90.

                  (IELTS)
                  International English Language Testing System Minimum score required - 7.

          My friend was rejected by most schools, just because her Toefl score was 597. If you can score 2180 in GRE, why not take Toefl again?

              本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Taht 's why I told you that if ur Toefl is less than 600, u will be rejected by most best schools. From my personal experience the admission process Canada typically can be divided in 2 steps.

              1. Some clerk or even student will look at ur file. They only will simply see that if you meet some certain criteria, like Toefl>600( the good gradute school will need at least 600 ), GRE>2000, GMAT>650, so on and so force, If ur score does not meet their crireia, u will be rejected and this happen very fast, typically less than 3-4 weeks.

              2. If you can meet all these criteria, ur file will be send to some committee for further review. The committee will be consisted by some staff or professors. They will look at your statement, essay and background in detail, that will take some longer time.

              So do not expect you get your admission so fast. If you receive a letter, typically in a small envelop, soon after the letter of receiving your file. That will mean u r rejected. If the application process is slow, that means ur file is being reviewed carefully and u still have chance.

                  At present, you'd better concentrate on the schools that still ongoing. Write them a letter or call them if you can to explain why ur Tofle is not good and ur strenth. Good luck.
                • I know a girl who applied to York. Her English tests' scores were not good, so she was rejected. She came to admission office, and appealed directly to the director.                   I suggest you write an appeal letter. And at the same time book a position for TOEFL test in this two weeks. You can use the unofficial score to resume your application process, and send official score to those schools later.

          Feel it is a little easier than than the paper test, since the time of reading section seems longer. I scored 273 on it ( 30 in reading section ).
