the wedding _license_ is only good for 3 months(or 90 days) and within the same province/state. if you don't get married in 3 months, you need to apply again. and if you want to get married in other province/state, you need to apply in that province/state.

the license is just a permit that allows you two to get married. you will be issued marriage certificate, which proves you two are legally married, after your wedding hosted by the judge, priest, or pastor.

You can get the marriage liscence right away, then make an appointment with a churchman (they will give you a list of chruchman and cityhalls), invite your friends to attend the ceremony in any cityhall, after the ceremony, the churchman will sign a document for you, but it's not a formal Marriage Certificate, you have to order one after a pieriod of time(i forgot how long, might be 2-3monthes?) after you get married. Marriage liscence is nothing, just a permission, means you are all singles you two have the right and are permitted to get married by Toronto Government. any further questions call me 416-6639826.
