Thanx for ur opinion. But have you tried BIOS wizard test? If you know what is Enhanced Disk Drive Specification, then you may not say that again.

You know, lots of MB have a HDD supporting bottleneck, other than what you have said "这也操心?BH6应该能够支持几个TB不成问题".
Take a look at the linked web if you are interested in.

My BIOS ID is 10/08/1998-i440BX-W83977-2A69KA1EC-FU, i.e., it should be check with BH6FU

No. Lot of old MB does not support HDD bigger than 8.4GB or 32GB.

Some of them are caused by BIOS, and if the manufacturer provide the latest version BIOS that fixed the problem, then OK. but for others, just like mine, it might be the problem of chip sets. then it is impossible to fixed it.
For that kind of MB, it will complain that "no hdd attached" or something like that.

For BH6SS or BH6SP, there is no problem. The manufacturer have tested 'em. But it is a different story for other BIOS ID, like FU.

The problem is: 1). I am not sure if I will get the detecting problem
2). The dealer want me to make sure there is no problem with my MB, they will not allow refounding.

If there is no detecting problem, then sure it will be ok. That is the core.

my NB chip set is Intel 440BX/ZX rev 2, maybe that is the problem's source.

Here is the msg from BIOS wizard: "Enhanced Disk Drive Specification was designed to support large volume hard disk drives.

If your BIOS does not support this specification, you will not be able to support large volume hard disk drives with your PC. For example, Hard Drives larger than 8.4 Gigabytes or 32 Gigabytes."
Done!

I think It's ok, but I think you'd better buy ATA 100 Hard Drive, because this part MB is an old item.
