      • did you mean canon power shot s30?
        • yes. Which one is better please ?

In answer to your question, which camera you should buy, either the Canon Powershot S30 or the Sony DSCP5 really depends on what you want your camera to do. Here is a spec list for both cameras. Hope this helps.

      SONY CANON

3.2 mp ccd 3.2 mp ccd
3x optical zoom 3x optical zoom
2x digital zoom 10x digital zoom
Lithion ion battery Lithion ion battery
      (dedicated) (dedicated)
Memory Stick (storage) Compact Flash (storage)
      $999.99 plus tax $899.99

The reasons to buy the Canon are the following: Price, means of storage (more universal). If I had to choose between the two...I would pick the Canon. But just so you can keep your options open, the Kodak DX 3900, does all the Canon does + more for $559.90
      • My friend bought a Kodak DX3900 for 349 at chrismas, now the price back to 599. DO you know where I can get it that cheap?
        • Wow! That is the cheapest price I have heard for that camera.
本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Futureshop did have a Christmas special on all of their digital gear, that special I know for sure that that special is now over. I just checked with Futureshops website and they no longer have the DX series cameras listed!

When buying a digital camera, or any product in which technology is rapidly advancing for that matter, it is not always a good rule to buy from the place with the cheapest price. Take into consideration this: 2 months down the road when there is firmware upgrades or when you camera might need servicing, Futureshop isn't going to do much for you. Where as a place like M&A, Vistek or Henry's which will offer better "aftersale" service. For example free access to firmware upgrades, M&A (downtown) offers discounted rental cameras while your camera is in repair...etc. Just something to think about.

Places like Futureshop will have the cheapest prices on items such as cameras because they buy in bulk. But before buying, double check to make sure that things such as warranties are not affected by the low price.
