yes. i guess u had better apply together, u can have the interview urself. (but have a nice reason why ur spouse fail to present). u just need pay little more money(500$+975$+some fees). i did by this way.

i think u can, contact with the immigration section. One of my friend applied himself first, during the interview(in hk canadian general consulate), he added his wife and son. after submited all the materials, they got the LP.
