It's very easy to apply for installing a phone line.

I called the Bell service number, 310-2355 (in toronto),
the attendant recorded my name, address, and directed me to pay $200
as deposit in a nearby Bell Center.

The next day, I went to the post office and bought a money order
for $200. With this money order, I went to a nearby Bell center and
submitted it there. Then I called Bell again and made an appointment
of phoneline installation. It's 4 or 5 days later, I forgot it.

On the set day, the Bell technician came and installed the line for me.
It's connected immediately. The installation costed $55 and was charged
in the bill of first month.
